The One Refugee Podcast
The One Refugee Podcast provides a unique opportunity to hear personal stories from college students who have experienced life as a refugee firsthand. Only a small percentage of the 26 million refugees worldwide are enrolled in higher education. The students sharing their stories in this podcast are part of One Refugee, a nonprofit supporting almost 300 scholars of various refugee backgrounds in Utah and Idaho. Tune-in to learn more about their individual struggles, barriers to pursuing higher education, and hopes for the future. Each student is unique in their cultural upbringing, area of study, and professional pursuits.

Originally from Myanmar, Esther Chin is no stranger to perseverance and survival. At the age of 15, Esther fled her home nation to seek safety from war. She traveled 84 days on foot to arrive in Malaysia. Esther graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing from Weber State University in 2020, and is now serving others as a traveling nurse. Tune in to hear more about her experiences in fleeing Myanmar, determination to study, and passion to impact others through nursing.
